The Key to Effective Communication? Knowing Your Audience!

What is the key to not just communicating your message, but to get it across with a lasting impact?

A recent poll reports that when it comes to change within an organization over 65% of changes don't have a lasting effect and another 45% create disruption in one of the line of businesses that they were implementing the change in. Why the gap between the intended outcome and what the end user experienced?

Miscommunication can be at play and this culprit contributes to other gaps as well.

Here is another example.

Do you find yourself in a meeting with people asking you to repeat what you just said  or asking you to clarify your point?

Whether it is a meeting that you are presenting in, or if you are leading an organizational change communication did occur, however what we are seeing is a disconnect in how the message landed to the receiving party. To be an effective communicator begins with what you will communicate, ends with who you are communicating to and in the middle is understanding which audience type needs to understand your message.

In today’s episode 65 of The Art of Leadership Communication show I will share with you how to understand the audience type, you speak too.
